Hi!! My name is ROONEY. I am about 8-9 months old and am about 38 lbs. I am expected to be about 45 lbs. I had a rough start in life. I was living on a property in SC with many other dogs. My "owners" did not provide me or the other dogs with a warm loving and caring home. We were outside and left to run along the train tracks.  Fortunately for me this woman named Whitney saw what was happening and she offered to help us. My "owners" gladly handed me and them over like we were nothing, while we were scared I was relieved at the same time. I could just tell this nice lady was going to be certain I would be someone's valued companion and friend. She brought me to this place called the LCAR Sanctuary and Safe Haven. I knew my life was just beginning at that moment. There were a bunch of nice ladies there to greet me. I trembled, but they looked into my eyes and saw my soul. They said to me "you are safe forever" and showered me with kisses and hugs. I am still timid but I am learning that people are actually awesome. Not all are like my "owners". So now it is my chance to find that special someone who will keep me safe, show me unconditional love, shower me with affection and give me a warm bed to lay in at the foot of their bed. I am good with other dogs & cats but do take some time to warm up to people as you can imagine but I am relearning how people can be toward me.  When  I arrived I was scared of my own shadow but since being in a loving foster home for a few weeks I am so improved. Can you find it within your heart to give me the security and love I am so deserving of?
