I understand that Last Chance Animal Rescue (LCAR) and all affiliate organization including but not limited to: Saint Francis Farm (SFF) etc. has a legal and ethical duty to preserve the privacy and confidentiality of certain information relating to its donors, adopters, rescues and volunteers.

In addition certain information relating to LCAR operations and its affiliate organizations must remain private to protect the continuity of the programs and their collective mission. Information is categorized in two ways: confidential and proprietary.

Confidential Information shall include any information pertaining to financial status of LCAR, its affiliate organizations and donations or sponsorship by individuals or organizations including but not limited to: existing accounts and payment status of individuals or groups providing a service such as vetting, boarding, transport etc. Names, telephone numbers, street addresses, email addresses, driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers, gifts, or any other information that may be learned about a donor/sponsor or service provider.

Proprietary information shall include any information regarding LCAR and its affiliates business operations, methods and procedures, best practices, personal access code(s), user identification number(s), access key(s) and password(s) used to access computer systems, equipment and accounts that include web pages, social media (including Facebook, Tik Tok and Instagram), and financial systems (Classy, PayPal, Pet Portal, any others that may be created at a later date).

By signing this document, I understand and agree that:

1. I shall, at all times, maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of all Confidential and Proprietary Information which comes into my possession while volunteering for LCAR or any of its affiliate programs.

2. I shall not use, disclose, orally, in writing, electronically or otherwise, any Confidential or Proprietary Information to any third party while I am an active volunteer, or after termination of volunteer status (whether it be voluntary or voluntary) LCAR or any of its affiliate programs.

3. I shall not discuss or otherwise reveal any Confidential or Proprietary Information while I am in any area where unauthorized individuals may hear or see such information, for example, in restaurants and at social events.

4. Should I discover that any Confidential or Proprietary Information has been compromised, I will immediately notify the LCAR or any affiliate Director(s).

5. I understand that all information created by me during my association with LCAR or its affiliates as a volunteer, is considered Proprietary and is the sole property of LCAR or its affiliates.

6. Any Confidential Information obtained, viewed or accessed by me or during my association with LCAR or its affiliates as a volunteer is the sole property of LCAR.

7. Upon any termination of my association with LCAR or its affiliates, as a volunteer, or upon any request by the Director, I shall immediately return all property of LCAR or its affiliates.

8. During my association with LCAR or its affiliates as a volunteer and for a period of two (2) years after any termination of my association with LCAR, I shall not create or otherwise develop an animal rescue program which places adoptions in the County of Suffolk.

I understand that any violation of this agreement shall result in the immediate termination of my association with LCAR or its affiliates as a volunteer, as well as any civil or criminal penalties. By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this Agreement in its entirety and I agree to comply with all of the terms and conditions contained herein as a condition of my association with LCAR or its affiliates as a volunteer.
